Kelly Holmes
My sporting hero is Kelly Holmes, an athelete. She won two gold medals at the 2004
summer Olympics. She is the first British woman who done this.
Kelly was born in 1970 near London and she started running when she was twelve.
Her early career was not easy. She had bad luck with injuries and she
often felt depressed. But at the age of thirthy-four, Kelly won her first gold
medal at the Athens Olympics. Everyone was amazed – especially Kelly! A
few days later, she won another gold medal. She suddenly became a
national hero.
I like her becasue she is always very friendly to her fans and she inspired a lot of young people to achieve their dreams.
