21st Century Skills

Hello again! 

Today, I will be sharing some pieces of information about 21st-century skills in education field. But, let's see what they are beforehand!

"21st-century skills" contains the skills that students are supposed to have in order to be successful in this age, and they are divided into three groups: Learning skills, literacy skills, and life skills. 

  Learning skills (the four C’s) deal with mental progress, which is essential to adaptation and development depending upon the modern work environment. These skills are Critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication.

〰 Critical thinking makes students come up with ideas and solutions without getting any help. 

〰 Creativity enlightens students and encourages them to try something out of traditional methods and ideas, or students can innovate the current ones with the help of creativity.

〰 Collaboration guides students to work together, reach common achievement and have the best result in the end. 

〰 Communication is a crucial part of students' learning. By interacting and sharing information with each other, students gain a lot of pieces of information and they know how to deal with people who have different styles and personalities.

  Literacy skills (IMT) are concerned with the students' being able to realize and take advantage of the technology, statistics, facts. With these skills, students can tell the differences between reliable sources and wrong information. They are known as information literacy, media literacy, technology literacy.

〰 Information literacy helps students grasp the facts, data points on the Net. Besides, it directs them to trustworthy sources and channels.

〰 Media literacy aims to show the differences between safe, and unsafe informations. Students know whether the informations they gained are useful or not. 

〰 Technology literacy allows students to know basic informations about gadgets, programs and applications. They know the tasks and functions of them, and use the tools properly.

  Life skills (FLIPS) are the abilities that students use in their daily lives. They are interested in the abstractness in the students' lives focusing on both individual and occupational qualities. These skills are Flexibility, leadership, initiative, productivity, and social skills.

〰 Flexibility is the statement of someone’s being able to alter her/his skills according to variable situations and adapt them.

〰 Leadership is someone's setting up some rules within a team and spearhead in order to achieve a particular goal.

〰 Initiative is the demonstration of willingness to get things done and spending extra time on them. 

〰 Productivity is completing the assignments and tasks in the right or less amount of time.

〰 Social skills require the connections of many people in order to complete a task. They also emphasize the importance of etiquette, manners, politeness,
